Avoiding Other Types of Harassment
Buying for an organization? Per-employee pricing and one company code for your whole team → For organizations
Harassment is not only sexual, and this course covers the rest of it — conduct aimed at veteran status, religion, ethnicity, disability, age and gender, with the point made up front that everyone falls into several protected categories simply by being human.
Rather than list rules, it works a case: an older employee whose supervisor keeps raising “transition plans” and finally asks “when are you going to retire?” — and then asks the harder question of whether that is harassment yet. You will learn the three factors that decide it — how often the conduct occurred, how severe it was, and the effect it had on the person — and that there is no single threshold: sometimes one comment is enough, and sometimes it takes a steady stream of smaller ones.
It also covers your employer’s anti-harassment policy and the protection that makes the policy usable at all: no adverse action can be taken against someone for making a good-faith complaint, or for honestly taking part in an investigation.
Who it’s for: every employee, in any industry.

Common questions
What kinds of harassment does this cover?
The kinds that are not sexual: conduct aimed at veteran status, religion, ethnicity, disability, age and gender. The course makes the point up front that everyone falls into several of these protected categories simply by being human.
How do you tell harassment from an isolated bad remark?
The course gives three factors: how often the conduct occurred, how severe it was, and the effect it had on the person. It teaches that there is no single threshold — sometimes one comment is enough to create a hostile working environment, and sometimes it takes a steady stream of less intensive commentary.
What protects someone who complains?
The course covers your employer's anti-harassment policy and the protection it teaches makes that policy usable: that no adverse employment action can be taken against someone who makes a good-faith complaint about harassment, or who honestly participates in an investigation.
Which of the ten courses does my organisation need?
Everyone takes the same starting point: Sexual Harassment (Employee). Anyone who supervises people adds the Supervisor Supplement on top of it — supervisors are held to a higher standard and that course is about what to do once you know. This one covers the harassment that is not sexual — veteran status, religion, ethnicity, disability, age and gender — and it suits everyone. You do not have to work this out per person: when your people join with your company code they give their work state and say whether they supervise anyone, and the rules assign what each of them owes from that.
Can I buy this for my whole team, and do I assign it person by person?
You can buy it for a team: set the number of seats on this page before adding to cart. And no, you do not assign it person by person — that is not how the platform works. Your people join with your company code, give their work state and city and say whether they supervise anyone, and the training rules decide what each of them owes from that — which is how a multi-state employer gets the right course to the right person without anyone maintaining a list. You hand out one code instead of picking names off a list. Seats are issued for 12 months.
Who is it for, and how is it structured?
Every employee, in any industry. 6 video chapters with 5 knowledge checks. Progress saves as you go and a certificate is issued on completion.
